6th Annual InSIGHT

2009 International Photo Contest

 

 

 

 

Please read and submit all information carefully. The top 35 photos will be displayed to UTMB and to the local community in the Moody Medical Library and annually during International Education Week November 16-20, 2009. Submissions will be accepted at any time during the year.

 

Application and Photo Submission Deadline:        October 27, 2009

 

There will be four categories. All entries must have been taken during a UTMB Global Health elective.

1). Children or Family   2). Community   3). Medical   4). Nature/Physical Environment

 

The panel of judges may be comprised of representatives from UTMB, The Department of Family Medicine, other sponsoring organizations or invited photojournalists/artists

 

Criteria for Judging:  Relevance to the category (25%), Visual Perception and Creativity (25%), Technical Excellence (25%), The Story (25%)

.

Awards will be made to the first and second place winners in each of the four categories, along with one photo judged “Best Overall”.

 

Eligibility:       Open to all UTMB students

 

Guidelines:     (Failure to comply with these guidelines will disqualify your entry)

 Up to 3 photos may be submitted by an individual (limit 1 entry per category)

 All photos must be at least 4x6 inches and not more than 8x10 inches

 Both color and black & white photos will be accepted

 All entries must be mounted and matted  (no frames or glass permitted).  Precut mats in a variety of sizes can be found at a hobby store.

 Entrants must choose category for which photo is to be judged

 Make sure your name, address, telephone number and category entry are clearly marked on the back of each photo

 Each photo must be submitted with a completed application

 If you wish the photo returned by mail, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.  If envelope not received with entry, photo(s) will remain property of CTIH
