Fifth Annual InSIGHT
2008 InternationalPhoto Contest
Rules and Regulations for Entry


Please read and submit all information carefully. The top 35photos will be displayed to UTMB and to the local community in the MoodyMedical Library and annually during International Education Week inmid-November. Submissions will be accepted at any time during the year.

Application and PhotoSubmission Deadline: October 28,2008


There will be four categories. All entries must have beentaken during a UTMB Global Health elective.

1). Children orFamily 2). Community 3). Medical 4).Nature/Physical Environment

The panel of judges may be comprised of representatives fromUTMB, The Department of Family Medicine, other sponsoring organizations orinvited photojournalists/artists

Criteria for Judging: Relevance to the category (25%), Visual Perception and Creativity (25%),Technical Excellence (25%), The Story (25%)

.

Cash awards will be made to the first andsecond place winners in each of the four categories, along with one photojudged “Best Overall”.

Guidelines: ( Failure to comply with theseguidelines will disqualify your entry)

Up to 3 photos may be submitted by an individual(limit 1 entry per category)

All photos must be at least 4x6 inches and notmore than 8x10 inches

Both color and black & white photos willbe accepted

All entries must be mounted and matted (no frames orglass permitted). Precut mats in a variety of sizes can be found at a hobby store.

Entrants must choose category for which photois to be judged

Make sure your name, address, telephone numberand category entry are clearly marked on the back of each photo

Each photo must be submitted with a completedapplication

If you wish the photo returned by mail, pleaseenclose a self-addressed stamped envelope. If envelope not received with entry, photo(s) will remain property ofCTIH
